HOW TO CARE FOR LINEN FABRICS

Linen is a beautiful, breathable natural fabric, but it requires proper care to keep it looking this way.

 WASHING

Machine Wash for best results using cold or lukewarm water (max 40°C / 104°F) and set to a gentle cycle with a mild detergent (no bleach). Wash with similar colors, avoid overloading and fabric softeners as they coat the fibers. Linen softens and becomes better with every wash.

Hand Wash delicate or embroidered linen using cool/ lukewarm water and mild soap and avoid wringing or twisting.

To remove stains treat them promptly with a mild stain remover and avoid harsh scrubbing or bleach.

drying

Best way to dry the majority of linen fabrics is naturally By Air.  Linen should be hung or laid flat while damp with no direct sunlight to prevent them from fading.

Dry Clean only if the linen is structured, lined or labeled “dry clean only”.

Tumble Dry only if needed, using low heat, remove while still slightly damp to avoid stiffness or shrinkage.

ironing

Linen should be ironed while still damp using hot iron with steam on the reverse side to avoid shine. Linen naturally wrinkles, that’s part of its charm and casual aesthetic.

storage

Linen should be stored in a clean, dry, cool and breathable place, hanged or folded with acid-free tissue paper to prevent creasing. It is best to avoid plastic bags.
